CDP and S&P Global, both leading global sustainability rating companies, have recognized UPM among the top sustainability performers.
On 7 February 2025, the global environmental non-profit organization CDP recognized UPM with an A score for its leadership in corporate transparency and action on climate change mitigation, and an A- for forest and water stewardship.
“In our strategy, forests, wood-based products, low-carbon energy and the reduction of fossil CO2 emissions play a key role in mitigating climate change. Water plays a critical role in our business, from sustainable forestry to production and energy generation. We have set ambitious targets for all these areas as part of our Group-level sustainability targets for 2030,” says Sami Lundgren, Vice President, Responsibility at UPM.
S&P Sustainability Yearbook lists UPM among the Top 10% of its industry
On 11 February 2025, UPM was recognized in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook as one of the top 10% performers in its industry.
“We see sustainability as one of the most important drivers of growth and competitiveness, and we are seizing the opportunities presented by sustainable consumer choices and stricter regulations,” Sami Lundgren continues.
On 2 January 2025, UPM announced its inclusion in the Dow Jones World and European Sustainability Indices as the only forest and paper industry company for the years 2024-2025. The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook lists companies that are among the best in their respective industries. Launched in 2004, the Yearbook is S&P’s flagship and a globally recognized distinction for corporate sustainability performance.
